Spiritual Healing in the Adirondack Mountains

The Benefits of Being in Nature

Welcome to the Adirondack Mountains! Many of our guests book with us because they are looking for relief from their work lives. At Asa Adirondack, we love to help people relax, reflect, and spiritually restore themselves during their stay. From forest bathing to quiet contemplation or long walks, we have it all at Asa.

This is part of the reason why we encourage outdoor exploration on the Asa Adirondack property. According to the
American Psychological Association, spending time in nature is associated with stronger emotional, mental, and existential health. It helps you find greater purpose in your life, and can even improve your bodily health.

Discover what healing outdoor activities you’ll come to experience when you book a stay in the Adirondack Mountains, and walk away as a stronger person.

The Top Attractions near Asa Adirondack

Meditate

Meditation allows you to breathe in the natural air and peaceful atmosphere and breathe out your problems, tensions, and worries. Asa Adirondack’s property has multiple excellent meditation spots in the woods and on the property. Because all of our guests value meditation, you won’t be disturbed.

Concentrating on meditation can be hard for some. If you need a bit more involvement in your meditative process, we do have yoga workshops going on throughout the year. We also have the Adirondack Labyrinth, a two-year project meant to bring balance and reduce stress to our guests’ lives.

Hike in the Adirondack Mountains

We encourage our guests to explore the Adirondacks to their heart's’ content. While we do have multiple walking trails onsite that offer a path through the woods, there are hundreds of quality hikes for you to choose from. Some of the closest trails include Round Pond Trail, Crane Mountain, and Gore Mountain. Many of the hikes also end at ponds, which gives you ample opportunity for swimming and fishing.

The onsite walk through the Forever Wild Forest Preserve to the historic schoolhouse is another option if you don’t want to drive too far away.

Hiking is a good physical activity, which assists in stronger mental health and lasting inner peace. The remote hikes offered in the Adirondacks can offer moments of spiritual refuge at times when you feel overwhelmed by the world around you.

Find the hike that works for you on the AllTrails interactive map we’ve linked.

Go Stargazing

If you want to get your mind thinking about your place in the world, look to the stars for introspection. The Adirondacks is one of the best places to go stargazing in the eastern United States, as there’s very little (if any) light pollution. Guests who primarily live in the city may not see the beauty of an untouched night sky much, but at Asa Adirondacks you’ll have the chance!

While we don’t offer stargazing equipment, you are more than welcome to bring your own telescopes and spend hours every night appreciating the celestial skies.

Fishing in Lake George

Silence and serenity—with purpose! That’s how some might describe fishing, and one of the best spots to try the sport is Lake George. This large body of water has quite the catch collection, making for an interesting day of fishing if you catch multiple critters.

Make sure that you check out the best fishing locations on the lake so you can get the best haul. If you don’t care about the amount of catches and just want to chill out near the lake, that works too. When you just need to kick back, listen to the water, and breathe, Lake George should be the number one destination.

Forest Bathing

Forest bathing is a great way to appreciate the world around you, and can help you relax your mind and body.  Wander the forest. Breathe in the clean air. Notice how you feel and what you're thinking. Admire the forest's natural artwork. Escaping our tech-driven world can relieve your stress and help you reconnect with the real world.

Forest bathing is perfect at Asa Adirondack because the land is private, secluded, and safe. You'll have the opportunity to meet people and see wildlife without any disruption.

If forest bathing sounds interesting to you but you aren't sure what to do, you can book a guided forest bathing session with our experience team. Just let us know you're interested.

The Adirondacks are the perfect place to visit for spiritual rejuvenation. We hope you love the quiet mountain retreat we provide all of our guests. If you want to see the events we offer throughout the year, check out our events page!
